Dinosaurs Part 1 Family Lesson

Lead your budding paleontologists on a prehistoric journey! This lesson takes a look at how we know what we know about dinosaurs, what IS a dinosaur, the smallest and the biggest dinosaurs, and we learn about Sauropods and Ceratopsians (focusing on Brachiosaurus, Diplodocus, Protoceratops, and Triceratops). 

The Parent Guide includes instructions for teaching the lesson and a sample Four-day lesson plan, a 2-page book list for read-alouds, a video playlist, a dinosaur poem and how to talk about it, a fun Design-a-Dino craft, and an artist study on one of the earliest paleoartists and a close look at his work.

Dinosaurs Part 2 will cover Armored Dinosaurs like Stegosaurus and Ankylosaurus, Therapods like Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus Rex, and ancient flying and swimming reptiles, which are not dinosaurs but still fun to learn about! Coming in October 2026!

At Abiding Wild, we believe without a shadow of a doubt that God created ALL things. Humans were specifically created in His image (Gen 1:26), and He has put all things under our dominion (Gen 1:28).

When it comes to Earth's timelines, we recognize that only the Creator Himself can truly know them. As debates continue amongst Old Earth and Young Earth Creationists, we have decided to leave dates out of our lessons so parents can present theories to their kids at their own discretion.

Let's not let the enemy divide us on a non-salvation issue. We believe the WHO of Creation, and leave the when and how up to discussion.
