“But What About Socialization?” (The Question Every Homeschooler Gets and Why We’re Not Worried)
If you’ve homeschooled for more than five minutes, you’ve probably heard it:
“But what about socialization?”
Cue the dramatic pause. The concerned eyebrows. The subtle implication that your children might one day grow up to speak only in Morse code and woodland creature calls.
But here’s the truth: Our kids? They’re socializing just fine—thank you very much.

New to Homeschooling? Here Are Some of Our Favorite Things
When we first started homeschooling, I had no idea what we actually needed. I wanted our space to feel cozy and inspiring—but also functional for the rhythm of our days. Over time, we’ve found a few favorites that have really helped us find our groove, and fall is the perfect time to stock up!
One of the best things we did early on was set up a small homeschool space—just a corner with shelves, art supplies within reach in a caddy, some learning posters on the wall, and a rolling cart for books, art, and manipulative supplies. It didn’t need to be Pinterest-perfect, just organized enough to make learning feel peaceful and inviting. We use it for everything from quiet reading to game-schooling afternoons (Trekking the World, anyone?).

So You’re Thinking About Homeschooling...
Maybe you’re just beginning to consider homeschooling, or perhaps you’ve already made the decision to step into this sacred calling. Maybe the Lord stirred something in your heart — a conviction to bring your children home and guide their education yourself.
Perhaps it was the bullying, the tears, the constant homework, the rushed mornings… or simply the ache of knowing that you’re not the primary influence in your child’s life right now.
Whatever brought you here, I want to say — I see you, and I applaud your courage. Just entertaining this journey takes faith and intention. Welcome, friend.
